I have one son, two daughters, and am married (to the same lovely woman since 1984 (25 years and still going)).
My oldest daughter is in college studying to be a Pharmacist, my son is also in college studying to be a Pharmacist, and my youngest is a recent CSG graduate attending University of Toledo. I coached both of my daughters in Elementary, High School, and Club Volleyball.
This is my 15th year coaching girls' volleyball.
I played volleyball at the intramural level while in the Army and while I was in college (intramural levels). After college, I played in local adult volleyball leagues and tournaments for many years, both indoor and outdoor. Before I stopped playing, for 3 years I played at least 2 times a week (when it was winter we played indoor, summer we played outdoor (sand)). I certainly was never capable of an elite level of play, but I really enjoyed the time spent on the court.
I am USA Volleyball CAP II and IMPACT certified (USA Volleyball CAP Info), (OVR CAP Info), (OVR IMPACT Info), and am currently a "Cap III candidate". This means I have attended the CAP III course at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, but have some volleyball projects to finish before getting my CAP III certification.
I love the game.
I work for a locally based manufacturing corporation as a Performance and Quality Manager for Information Technology projects and services. I have a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from THE Ohio State University, and a Masters in Business Administration from Ashland University.
In my spare time (of which I have very little), I keep my wife from divorcing me by being handy around the house (yard-work, remodeling bathrooms, kitchens, basements, laying tile, hardwood floor, etc.), plus I'm a good looking guy (and modest too)!
When I'm not doing any of the above, I play guitar; lately I've been working on "getting the band back together", and we are always looking for places to play, but we always seem to have problems keeping drummers; due to all that, I've launched my "solo" act, where it's just me, my guitar, and 2 microphones; members of the audience can come up and sing into the 2nd one, which almost always happens as the evening progresses.... it is a LOT of fun.

Finally, another volleyball related item that I think is cool. As part of my CAP II project some time ago, I wrote an article based on one of the ways I have applied statistics to volleyball. They must have liked it because the article was one of the ones picked up by "Coaching Volleyball", which is a magazine published by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). They published it in the July/August 2005 issue.
