Writing these little blurbs are not my specialty but lets see where it takes me…

I am from Springfield, Ohio and just graduated from Ohio State in March with a B.A. in International Relations. I am currently holding two other jobs on top of coaching this fall. I am a server at Bar Louie downtown and I am a hostess at the Hyatt on Capitol Square. I plan on keeping these jobs until I find out what I want to study and where I want to attend graduate school but I don’t plan on enrolling until the fall of 2009. Hopefully this year will shed some light on what I would really like to specialize in.

As far as volleyball goes, I played varsity all four years in high school and played club ball with SOJO (Springfield Ohio Junior Olympics) from seventh grade through my junior year. My senior year I decided to go with Dayton Juniors because of course that was where all my friends were playing. I was offered a full athletic scholarship to Morgan State in Baltimore and decided not to take it and went to play at Muskingum College. I stayed there for two seasons before deciding to transfer to Ohio State. I made the club team for OSU but needed to get a job to try and support myself so volleyball got put on hold due to the time conflicts between the two. However, I still continued to play intramurals with some friends.

My interests and favorite pastimes are easy...I love to travel. In high school I had the privilege of traveling to Hungary, Austria, and Italy for a couple weeks each. Last summer I chose to study abroad in Beijing, China for two months. It was incredible. I have also traveled a lot throughout the United States and love seeing new things. Basically, if I could drop everything and have no responsibility I would travel anywhere and everywhere.

I really have a passion for the game of volleyball and miss playing so I figured that coaching was the next best thing to playing. I am really excited for this season and to get to know the girls. I know we will have a great season!
